Stay Connected with Parent Square

Sam Rayburn ISD knows the importance of teacher and parent connections. We truly believe that by working together as a team, we are better prepared for student success! Additionally, we want to be able to keep our Rebel families informed on district news throughout the school year. To better achieve these communication goals, we partnered with Parent Square for the 2023-2024 school year. The contact information (email and/or cell phone) that our parents enter during enrollment/registration each year syncs to the Parent Square communication program. If a parent needs to update their email or cell phone number, they can do that in Parent Portal (program used to enroll, check student grades, etc) and it will be updated in Parent Square within 24 hours. This ensures that our parents stay connected throughout the year.

While we do want to keep our parents informed, we realize that some parents may not be able to receive communications throughout their work day. Parent Square offers a wonderful solution. As a parent, you can control the way that messages are sent to you in Parent Square. From your Parent Square account, a parent can select to receive email, text, and/or app notifications. The app is optional, but encouraged, as it allows access to several additional features, like digital permission slips. Additonally, unless a teacher specifies otherwise, all school communications (whether email, text, or app) are set to be sent at 6PM (with the exception of important alert type messages) so that parents do not receive communications during their work day. Parents can set their preferences to turn off the 6PM digest so that you get messages when they are sent. We hope that these options give our parents the ability to customize our communication platform to work best for their needs.

If you need any assistance updating contact information or have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher or contact Billiegail Mussett, at billiegail.mussett@srisd.org, or call the school directly at 903.664.2005.
